I think your pet shop logo works well both in color and BW. I think you used the enough amount of expectation which is 1 shape 1 image and one piece of text. However, I think that you chose to use to colors which don't stand out alot and also, you shouldn't say "I love pet" because it doesn't relate to what your organization is doing. You are selling pets not telling people that you love pet!
My rules are: - unique - attractive colors choice - connections and relations to the organization - keep it simple - make sure the colors stand out when it's placed next to each other.
You can choose the color stand out more. I think it is already unique. Like I told you, it doesn't relate to what you are doing. I think your logo is already simple TEEHEE! Also change the colors so that it looks attractive!
